LT modeled how to use the interactive board during shared wriiiting and the coloured key board to model to the children which keys you need for basic punctuation and spaceing.
LT also started the coaching program with 2 rotations using the powerpoint book stories.
The lap top pod was not set up. it was suggested that the first few times of use the teacher sets up 3 at a time.
Term 1 - prior to active board training.
Used the board for the roll, children moved their names under pictures etc. Completed newsboard on the board an is saved continually for children to use as an independant activity at reading time. I use the board for singing at the end of the day, great for enabling all children to clearly see.
Active Board Training - Week 1 of Term 2.
Learnt heaps to use the board with the children. Children writing their names on the on the board for the roll. They are really into writing on the board with the pens! My reading groups are previewing the text they are about to read with the teacher and writing words on the active board. The children again are really keen to particpate in this and complete the task. This needs monitoring and teaching around turn taking. Using resources from Promethean Planet to engage children. Statistics unit worked really well and was interactive for the children and met the needs of the unit. Using other flipcharts that are suitable with all topics. These units are useful for building childrens skills and confidence with the board.
